STSCA was founded in 1973 and was the first Soviet-American sister city to be established.

For over 50 years, STSCA has promoted both official and people-to-people exchanges between the cities of Seattle, Washington and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In spite of the Cold War, Seattle and Tashkent developed close ties, gradually eroding the enemy image of the Soviet Union and forging lasting friendships that continue to grow and flourish today. Now, with uncertain relations between the US and much of the Islamic world, our long-lived ties are increasingly important as the basis for people-to-people diplomacy.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://stsca.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/handshake.png” title_text=”handshake” show_bottom_space=”off” force_fullwidth=”on” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”4px||0px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_heading title=”What We Do” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” min_height=”37px” custom_margin=”||1px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” min_height=”121.1px” custom_padding=”0px||0px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”]

We promote citizen diplomacy and humanitarian assistance through educational, medical, artistic, and business exchanges.
